Faking ignorance, society neglects street kids, as usual
Painful truth, street kids will continue wandering the roads, the back lanes and in full view of the luxurious offices of the United Nations, the grand Bangkok Metropolitan Administration and the heart of corporate hedonism. It's not as if local authorities and fancy suits from the UN are unaware of urban child poverty, they know, just like the congested population of this mega city, everyone knows.
Question is whether they continue pretending ignorance or point fingers at others, hoping to deflect the blame, or, do something proactive about the situation by engaging marginalized children in decision-making process and equipping them with life skills?
What do you think?
