Floods in Thailand's northeastern province

Surin, one of the northeastern provinces of Thailand, with Cambodia to the south. Now ravaged by floods. Photos courtesy of a community-based group, Surin108, that is for and by folks in Surin province. The flood is said to be the worse in 40 years, affecting rural communities and their farms. Some Thai friends told me that Surin is popular with its sizable population of elephants and "elephant farms" while the rural people are poor, working in farms and rough terrains in the province.
